An interactive camshaft calculator where engine builders can see how valve overlap (and boost efficiency) is affected by a camshaft's physical design. ... The figures shown in degrees are camshaft degrees of duration measured at 0.050" tappet lift. The chart will show why it is foolish to install a 230 degree cam in an 8.00:1 motor in an.
Program imports open data, close data, base circle size, follower size, then calculates velocity, acceleration, jerk and radii of curvature for all 360 degrees. This is a universal cam analysis program that can also calculate cam lobe stress (PSI) and theoretical valve gear separation RPM (valve float) based on known valve gear mass and spring ....
This calculation tells you the intake and exhaust durations, the intake and exhaust center angle, the lobe center angle and center point, and the amount of valve overlap. These are shown in both camshaft and crankshaft degrees. Intake area and exhaust area are also calculated. Camshaft graph.
An interactive camshaft calculator where engine builders can see how valve overlap (and boost efficiency) is affected by a camshaft’s physical design. How to use MGI’s Camshaft Calculator When shopping for camshafts from different manufacturers, enter each of their supplied cam card specs into MGI’s Camshaft Calculator..

Jan 24, 2015 · Mechanical Lifter Cam Net Lift = (lobe lift x rocker ratio) – valve lash Example: For a Lobe Lift of 0.300 inch and a 1.5:1 rocker ratio with a 0.022-inch valve lash: Net Lift = (0.300 x 1.5) – 0.022 = 0.428 inch. A hydraulic camshaft automatically adjusts for thermal expansi.
A cam ground with a 108 lobe separation and advanced 4 degrees will have a intake centerline of 104 and exhaust centerline of 112. Advancing it another 2 degrees will result in a 102 intake centerline and a 114 exhaust centerline. Adding the intake and exhaust centerlines together and dividing by 2 will give you the lobe separation.
Re: Camshaft calculator opinions. Interesting calculator, It's pretty close to the cam I picked, it says I should have 301 adv. duration, and my cam has 303/312, it says I should have .679 lift my cam has .675 using 1.6 rockers. Now it is a little off on the .050 duration as it recommends 255 degrees of duration and my cam has 270/278.
The Summit Racing Cam Timing Calculator converts duration, lobe separation, and advance into the four individual timing events that will ultimately dictate e....
First of all you need to realize the Camshaft rotates at half the speed of the crankshaft. That means when we are talking about duration of a camshaft we are talking about 720 degrees not 360 degrees for the crankshaft. Next the Tappet. The Tappet is the pushrod or camshaft side of the Lifter. The new way of measuring Duration is .050 of lift ....

Formula: Taper = (Large End Dimension - Small End Dimension) / Overall Length Taper Angle = atan(0.5 x Taper) Related Calculators Area Base Regular Tetrahedron Area Of..
Camshafts are the most critical part of your engine’s performance. Camshafts use a combination of separation angles, lift, duration and lobe acceleration/ramp rates to create what is called a cam profile. The profile you choose determines where your maximum horsepower and torque will occur. Choosing the right profile is critical..
Camshaft valve timing calculator Use this valve timing calculator to calculate all off the valve timing events for your camshaft. The timing of valves is in the order: exhaust opens, intake opens, exhaust closes, intake closes. More overlap increases cranking compression. Closing the intake valve later lowers the dynamic compression.
Jul 07, 2004 · Lunati's cam has 22 degrees more advertised duration but only 6 degrees more at .050 lift. Vehicle 2: Same as above, but with 2400-stall converter and 3.55:1 gears. Vehicle 2: Cam Co..
Exhaust Duration = 77 + 180 + 29 = 286 degrees at .006-inch lift From this you can calculate the intake and exhaust centerlines. To find the intake lobe centerline, divide the intake duration by two and subtract the indicated intake opening point as shown in our example with the Comp XE274 example. Intake Centerline = (duration ÷ 2) - IO.
With the bottom calculator, you can see what the width of your degree key should be. I.E. If you think you have a 2° key, input "2" in the calculator and it will give you the width. The key width should measure that number. If not use that measurment in the top calculator to see what the degree offset is.
